About PSI Refrigeration
Three of us started PSI Refrigeration because we were tired of watching business owners get burned. We'd been in the field long enough to see the pattern: contractors who promised fast service, disappeared when problems got complex, and left restaurant operators scrambling at 3 a.m. when a walk-in died. It felt avoidable.
Our first jobs were single locations—one restaurant, one cold storage unit at a time. We didn't rush the diagnosis. We trained constantly. We showed up when we said we'd show up. Within a few years, restaurant groups started calling us back, then asking us to handle their second location, their third. That's when we realized the real need: multi-unit operations needed someone who could scale with them without cutting corners. Someone reliable enough to manage dozens of systems across a county, but hands-on enough to catch problems before they became disasters.
That insight shaped everything we've built since. We grew because we stayed focused on what matters—knowing our clients' facilities as well as they do, training our team like we're certifying doctors, and treating every service call like it could save someone's business that day.
'We do what we do because we've seen what happens when you don't. And we won't be that contractor.'
— Founders, PSI Refrigeration
Licensed and insured work prevents catastrophe. Early on, we saw what happened when unlicensed contractors cut corners on electrical or refrigerant handling. One bad installation could void your facility's insurance or shut you down. We made certification non-negotiable—not to check a box, but because your operation depends on systems that won't surprise you at 2 a.m. When something goes wrong despite best practice, our insurance backs every call.
Experience is knowing what's about to break. Twenty years means we've seen units fail the same way dozens of times. We can walk into a cold storage and predict which compressor is six months from failure, or which thermostat is starting to drift. That's not magic—it's pattern recognition earned through thousands of service calls. It saves our clients money because we fix problems before they become emergencies.
Local ownership means we stay put. We're rooted in Los Angeles County. This is our market, our reputation, and our home. We don't disappear because we work for a national chain. When you call PSI, you're calling people who live here and whose families depend on this business. That skin in the game changes how we work.
When you work with PSI, you get people who listen first. We'll document your equipment, understand your operation's rhythm, and build a maintenance plan that keeps things running. If something breaks, we diagnose thoroughly instead of replacing everything. If you're a multi-location operation, we assign someone who knows all your sites and the differences between them.
Most clients tell us they notice two things: we're honest about what actually needs fixing, and we're available when things go wrong. That's not luck. That's 20 years of building a team we trust and systems that work. If you're managing a restaurant, a cold storage facility, or a fleet of locations across the county, let's talk about how we can support your operation.
